Sales Arborist

We are searching for an arborist in a sales consultant role.  Candidate should have 2 or more years of sales experience in the green industry with a proven track record and have ISA Certification, as well as a NYS Pesticide Applicator 3A license.

 

The position involves meeting with existing and prospective clients to assess and define their landscape horticultural needs, perform property inspections and identify plant health care opportunities. The candidate needs to be proficient at diagnosing problems within the landscape and providing solutions. Accurate estimating and providing proposals for implementation of work are essential tools for the successful Certified Arborist Salesperson.  You need to be able to service and grow your assigned territory, set up crews, supervise work being performed, and complete jobs to clients’ satisfaction.

 

Additionally, you will be expected to perform community and industry networking such as presentations to horticultural associations, community organizations, garden clubs, attending trade shows etc., obtaining client referrals, & work with marketing campaigns to generate sales.

 

Position requires hands-on experience and knowledge of trees & ornamentals; a person with excellent listening, verbal & written communication skills who enjoys meeting and working with new persons, along with having a love of the outdoors and the natural surroundings.  A degree in a plant or biological science, or business / marketing is a plus.

Fleet Mechanic                                                                       Experienced fleet mechanic needed.  Candidate will be responsible for preventative maintenance & repair of fleet of vehicles & equipment, with your own set of tools. The duties include but are not limited to - service, diagnose and repair of light/medium/heavy trucks, diesel units, mobile tools, including backhoes, stump grinders, wood chippers and various other specialized auxiliary equipment  in accordance with Federal, State and Corporate practices, procedures and schedules.  Ability to work in varying seasonal environments, both indoors and outdoors.

  • In-depth knowledge of Internal Combustion Engines (both gas and diesel), DC Electrical Systems, Hydraulics, Track Equipment, Aerial Equipment, and landscape equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot: Fuel Systems, Electrical Systems, & Hydraulic Systems.
  • Able to perform complete repair and overhaul functions.
  • Perform basic mechanics including but limited to parts replacement, brakes, air brakes, air leaks, air suspension, oil leaks, pumps, etc.
  • Must be able to weld and do some fabrication work.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime when required.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 75 lbs. occasionally.  Must be physically able to push, pull, reach, bend and stoop.
  • CDL a plus.
  • Hydraulics training a plus.

Qualified candidates must pass company pre-employment testing; Department of Transportation (DOT) pre-employment drug screen/physical and a background check.  Benefits include medical, dental, and paid vacation.
