In a long life I have never recommended anyone so highly as I do Ray Smith. He is a proven asset and the services of his firm a sound investment. While Ray loves trees and understands their requirements, his firm offers full-service maintenance with a likable, conscientious staff sufficiently large to serve a goodly number of clients. Because LongHouse is one of them, the many trees here each year become more noble. We are most pleased with Ray Smith’s new departments for turf, irrigation and water features.

Because of your reputation and past experiences, I choose Ray Smith & Associates for my landscape project. I was given total attention and was informed every step of the way. The staff and crew were respectful and did a great job. The result over exceeded my expectations.

The Landscape Architecture class at the Ross School in East Hampton has had the most wonderful opportunity to work with you. We feel incredibly fortunate to be involved with Ray Smith & Associates and Aquascape’s program ‘Ponds for Kids’. Our appreciation is heartfelt.

This is a thank you note for the time, interest, and creativity you provided in our preliminary discussion of a driveway and landscaping for our home. We were particularly taken with your suggestion of a wild flower meadow off the driveway and the parking area among the trees. Landscaping is done across a wide range of sophistication, and it was evident that your approach was highly developed as well as knowledgable. Thank you again!

I have been a client of Ray Smith & Associates and Ed Drohan for three years. During this time, you have redesigned my home’s two large ponds and re-landscaped much of the surrounding garden. Critical to the redesign was Ed’s diagnosis and reconstruction of a previous landscaper’s incompetent workmanship on the plumbing and installtion of the ponds and a connecting stream. You have proved yourself exceptionally knowledgeable and creative. Your water gardens division has built a reputation for being the best in aquascapes on the East End of Long Island. I am among your many loyal and devoted customers.

I am writing this letter regarding your really wonderful and talented Water Garden Division. In the past few years, you have not only brought us wonderment and joy in our backyard, but you have made yourself a friend. I am always amazed at how much knowledge you have about landscaping and I’m always in awe of your fine taste and great eye in the planning of your water features. We have the higest regard for your work ethic and warm personality. Thank you!

We wanted you to know how pleased we were with the transformation of our beach property in Montauk. Your crew created a little bit of paradise on our property. We left our entire project in Mr. Drohan’s hands and our only request was that it look natural to the land. To wake up in the morning to the aroma of cedar trees and see the pines swaying in the wind is a joy! Even the birds, butterflies, bees and dragonflies love the pond and waterfall almost as much as our family and friends. We are anxiously awaiting the bloom of the Montauk daisies in October. Please accept our sincerest thanks to your entire crew!

Thanks so much to Howard Goldenberg for visiting my class last night and sharing his insights and perspectives on “getting a sustainable job.” He was very generous with his time and presented a nice counterbalance to the other speakers’ point of view. Several students remarked afterward that they enjoyed his points.

This letter is to acknowledge that Ed Drohan of Ray Smith and Associates lectured about ponds and water gardening to students majoring in ornamental horticulture at Farmingdale State College. The content of his talk was cogent, informative and interesting. I might add that he was also an excellent representative for Ray Smith and Associates and Aquascape.
